What does it take to enroll at Grizzlies Prep?
First things first, we exist for families who want to raise confident young men. That’s right, no girls. We’re the only all-boys charter school partnered with an NBA franchise to give male learners our undivided attention. The data is clear that they need it. We believe they deserve it.
Second, we are for families committed to seeing their boys reach their potential, both academically and as a man of character. We fully embrace our boys’ unique giftings and identity and will push your son to be the best he can be. We partner with families who want the same.
Other than that, we keep it simple. We’re a tuition-free program with transportation across Memphis so that any 6-8th grade boy in Shelby County can join our Brotherhood.

Brotherhood
Our brothers belong to a community. The Grizzlies Prep community fully affirms one anothers’ identities because we know we are all worthy of time and attention and capable of great things. With affirmation comes a challenge. We are not on an educational journey to stay where we are but to become who we are meant to be. Brotherly affirmation and challenge are structured into our school day.
Excellence
When better is possible, good is not enough. No matter what academic level your son is at or his maturity, Grizzlies Prep Staff will encourage him to grow. We celebrate excellence in academics and character development and give Brothers the opportunities to show off and shine.
Scholarship
We give students the support they need to grow as a scholar. Reading, writing, and a strong understanding of math are crucial to your son’s success. We invest in our teachers because they are the ones pushing your son to the next level. We back up our core content classes with extra blocks of reading and math enrichment and/or intervention so that he receives targeted practice and encouragement.
A School Day Like No Other
We greet our students at 7:45 am. Students spend their days engaging in core content classes, receiving targeted academic support in enrichment and intervention classes, and participating in an elective. School dismisses at 3:25 pm and many students transition to a sports practice, mentoring program, or aftercare.
