What does it take to enroll at Grizzlies Prep?
First things first, we believe boys and girls deserve learning environments intentionally designed around their unique strengths, needs, and potential. That's why Memphis Grizzlies Prep now offers two tuition-free public charter schools: Memphis Grizzlies Prep, an all-boys middle school, and the Memphis Grizzlies Prep STEAM School for Girls, an all-girls middle school focused on science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics.
Second, we're looking for families who believe every child can achieve at a high level and grow into a person of strong character. Whether you're enrolling a son or a daughter, you'll find a school that will challenge, encourage, and support your child while partnering closely with your family every step of the way.
Other than that, we keep it simple. Our schools are tuition-free, transportation is available across Memphis, and any eligible 6th, 7th, or 8th grade student living in Shelby County can apply to join the Memphis Grizzlies Prep family.

The Memphis Grizzlies Prep STEAM School for Girls community fully affirms one another's identities because we know every young woman is worthy of being seen, heard, and valued—and capable of extraordinary things. With affirmation comes responsibility. We are not on an educational journey to remain who we are today, but to become the women we are called to be: confident, compassionate, courageous, and prepared to lead. Sisterly affirmation, accountability, and encouragement are intentionally woven into every school day, empowering each young woman to grow individually while lifting up those around her.
Excellence
When better is possible, good is not enough. No matter what academic level your son is at or his maturity, Grizzlies Prep Staff will encourage him to grow. We celebrate excellence in academics and character development and give Brothers the opportunities to show off and shine.
Scholarship
We give students the support they need to grow as a scholar. Reading, writing, and a strong understanding of math are crucial to your child’s success. We invest in our teachers because they are the ones pushing your child to the next level. We back up our core content classes with extra blocks of reading and math enrichment and/or intervention so that they receive targeted practice and encouragement.
A School Day Like No Other
We greet our students at 7:45 am. Students spend their days engaging in core content classes, receiving targeted academic support in enrichment and intervention classes, and participating in an elective. School dismisses at 3:25 pm and many students transition to a sports practice, mentoring program, or aftercare.
